Pack 217 goes on a campout twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Campouts are a great time for scouts to get to know each other better, go on a hike, learn more about nature and how we can protect it, enjoy s'mores by a campfire, and have a ton of fun!
Never camped before and need a primer? Watch our "Let's Go Camping!" video.
Enjoy the peace of the Pineywoods and glimpses of the past at Mission Tejas State Park.

More Information:
This is a family friendly event so a scout's siblings and parents are all welcome and encouraged to come out and join in the fun!
Safety! Please use the buddy system with all scouts and make sure to turn in your scout’s BSA Health and Medical Record (Part A & B for any Scouting event).
Make sure your scout brings good shoes for running and hiking.
Parents are responsible to supervise their children except during official Den Time. If you see inappropriate behavior from other children, please intervene or notify their parents.
Running around the campsite - We fully expect the kids to play and have fun, however we need to use caution around the tent area where there are metal stakes, tie downs, a fire pit, etc.
Nighttime can obviously be hazardous because of limited vision in the woods (tripping or running into a low hanging branch that could injure an eye). Remind your scout to use caution.
Campfire rule: If a stick goes in the fire, it stays in the fire.
No pets are allowed.
